Research within the development of whole genome sequencing (WGS)-based surveillance and outbreak detection of foodborne pathogenic bacteria. Primarily by analysis of WGS data of Listeria monocytogenes and Shiga-toxin production Escherichia coli (STEC).

Responsibilities

• Surveillance and outbreak detection within STEC and Listeria monocytogenes
• Contribute to the national effort of solving foodborne outbreaks in Denmark within the Central Management Outbreak Group (CMOG). (Collaboration between SSI, The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and The Technical University of Denmark, National Food Institute).
• Develop and organise External quality assessments (EQAs) within typing for European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) within STEC and Listeria monocytogenes, previously also Salmonella
• Capacity building for European national reference laboratories within antimicrobial resistance in Salmonella species and Campylobacter species in human samples. FWD AMR-reflabcap  CHAFEA (HaDEA) 20197409
