• Identification, subtyping, characterisation and epidemiology of pathogenic E. coli
• One Health: OH-HARMONY-CAP: One Health Harmonization of Protocols for the Detection of Foodborne Pathogens and AMR Determinants, EU integrative project 2020-2022. 
• Identification and standard nomenclature and protocol for subtyping the stx genes in Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC), eae (coding gene for intimin), ETEC- and ExPEC associated genes.
• In silico virulence- and O:H serotyping using whole genome sequencing (WGS) of Escherichia spp. (primarily E. coli) and Shigella spp. strains.
