Parasitology

The Laboratory of Parasitology offers diagnostic services for most parasites of human clinical and epidemiological significance, including specialized analyses for various customers.

We apply both standard and advanced methods in our services, and we collaborate with both doctors, scientists and industrial partners.

Application of DNA based technology plays a central role in both our diagnostic services and research. We have a broad research focus on selected parasites and their role in health and disease.

Bacteriology

The laboratory offers the following investigations: Detection, identification, typing and susceptibility testing of class III biological safety bacteria, fastidious and difficult-to-grow microbes.
Mycology

Mycology

The laboratory offers: Susceptibility testing of yeast and moulds against antifungal agents for systemic as well as topical use. Serological examinations for Candida, Aspergillus and endemic dimorphic fungi.
Virology

Virology

The Department for Virus and Microbiological Special Diagnostics perform diagnostics on both endemic and exotic viruses, and monitors viral diseases in animals and man in Denmark and EU. The Department houses the WHO national reference laboratories for measles, rubella, polio and influenza and are the national reference laboratory for eksotic and dangerous virus in EVD-LabNet (Emerging Viral Disease Laboratory Network).
