Infection Control
The National Center for Infection Control (CEI) has advisory function to the Danish Health care system – hospitals, primary health care, and authorities. CEI makes national guidelines for infection control an prevention in collaboration with infection control experts and partners from the hole country.
Surveillance of healthcare-acquired infections: CEI participates in the national monitoring of hospital-acquired infections (HAIBA, in Danish).
CEI has made web-based interactive training materials on hand hygiene, hygiene in primary healthcare, and on prevention of cathether-associated urinary tract infections.

Disinfectants are evaluated on - voluntary basis - before introduction to the Danish hospitals and primary Health care. The evaluation is based on summaries of EN test standards performance, effect on humans (e.g. skin and mucous membranes), occupational health aspects, toxicology, and environmental aspects.
