Information about pneumococcal disease and guidelines for vaccination

Two infographics has been prepared, as the new offer of free pneumococcal vaccination with PPV23 (Pneumovax) comes in to effect for citizens who have turned 65 years, residents in nursing homes and residential accommodation and citizens who are at a particularly high risk of invasive pneumococcal disease. The aim of the infographics is to provide support for health professionals when offering pneumococcal vaccination.

One of the infographics describes the PPV23 and PCV13 guidelines for each risk group. The other infographic is a fact sheet about pneumococcal disease and vaccination. Both are in Danish.

Remember the offer of free influenza vaccination to citizens who are about to turn 65 years old

As part of the annual efforts against influenza, citizens aged 65 years or older are offered influenza vaccination free of charge.

Influenza vaccination may be given before the citizen turns 65 years old, provided the person in question will turn 65 years old before 15 January 2021, see the executive order on free influenza vaccination for some groups as of 30/09/2020.
