EURL-PH-AMR Results

SSI hosted an online kick-off meeting for the newly established EURL-PH-AMR consortium. The meeting was attended by advisors from ECDC, project officer from HaDEA and EURL-PH-AMR personnel from SSI, DTU and EDL. Initial work plans and priorities for 2025 were addressed by ECDC, HaDEA and the EURL-PH-AMR.

The EURL-PH-AMR consortium hosted an online kick-off meeting to introduce the National Focal Points for AMR, EARS-Net coordinators and EURGen-Net network members to the newly established consortium and work programme of the EURL-PH-AMR. The kick-off meeting was attended by ECDC, HaDEA, DG SANTE and 80 delegates from the disease networks.

The EURL-PH-AMR (EDL) provides a phenotypic antimicrobial susceptibility testing service for members of EURGen-Net. The "Laboratory testing strategy" outlines a harmonized approach to ensure timely and accurate characterisation of national or EU-level outbreaks of AMR threats, through the provision of phenotypic and functional testing of selected isolates, using European standards for testing and interpretation.

The EURL-PH-AMR (SSI) provides an advisory service function to support ECDC and the members of EURGen-Net in case of national outbreaks and cross-border threats to health caused by priority pathogens. The advisory service function will focus on provision of scientific advice and technical assistance on phenotypic and genotypic reference testing, bioinformatics analysis and analytical support for reporting outbreaks.

The Plans for EARS-Net EQA outlines the timeline and tasks undertaken by the EURL-PH-AMR (DTU) to deliver the first annual EQA on species identification and phenotypic antimicrobial susceptibility testing in 2025 to members of EARS-Net.
