Omicron report is discontinued since cases of Omicron now account for more than 90 %

Statens Serum Institut (SSI) will on the 7th of January 2022 publish our report about Omicron for the last time. This is because Omicron now accounts for more than 90 % of COVID-19 cases in Denmark.

Danish authorities detected the Omicron variant in Denmark on the 28th of November 2021, and the report about Omicron was published for the first time on the 7th of December 2021. Today, the 7th of January 2022, we will publish the report for the last time.

As part of the phase-out of the Omicron report, data about hospitalisations and deaths due to Omicron, were not published in the Omicron report from the 5th of January.

Statens Serum Institut will continue to monitor and inform about Omicron’s severity. This data will for example be published in the weekly tendency report. We will also continue to publish data on covid-19 infected and hospitalised, etc. on SSI’s dashboards and in other publications.
