Swift investigation of hepatitis A outbreak facilitated withdrawal of dates
The disease outbreak now counts 27 patients who have been affected by infectious inflammation of the liver caused by hepatitis A virus. The investigation clearly indicates that the source of infection is Iranian dates.
Since the end of January, Statens Serum Institut has investigated a hepatitis A disease outbreak in collaboration with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and DTU Food. The scope and investigation of the outbreak is described in this week’s issue of EPI-NEWS.
